Well, here are some more pictures of Rafael Nadal's hair loss. It is no secret by now after we broke the news as well as another forum did that Rafael Nadal is losing his hair for good. I think we all agree that the guy got royally unlucky. And yes, the balding is more of a diffuse patterned nature than the classic male pattern baldness progression as, say, the hair loss of Brendon Urie
whose balding has also surprised many.
Here are some very telling pictures of the extent of Rafa Nadal hair loss:
The hair on top of Nadals head is being lost evenly instead of the initial forelock receding with thinning augmentation of the vertex area as per the textbook Norwood scale for male pattern baldness (MPB). See below the Norwood scale for the most common progression of MPB:
Now see below on the left the hair losing pattern of diffuse patterned alopecia aka DPA (what Nadal suffers from). The drawing of the two heads on the right is to illustrate the other type of diffuse alopecia called diffuse unpatterned alopecia where the loss of hair is distributed evenly across a bigger area of the top of the head. In the case of Nadal, I am 99% positive that his diffuse alopecia is patterned even though his DPA is not extensive yet and despite him having long hair which camouflages the balding.
